About
About Studyledge
Studyledge is a free library of original Cambridge and IELTS practice questions, each one published with the full worked solution rather than just an answer.
Why it exists
Most revision sites give you the answer. The useful part is the bit in between: which method earns the marks, where the method goes wrong, and what an examiner is actually looking for. Every question here is published with that reasoning written out in full, free to read, with no account and no paywall in front of it.
Everything here is original
Cambridge Assessment International Education and other boards do not permit third parties to host their past papers, questions or mark schemes. Studyledge does not host any. Every question on this site is written from the published syllabus objectives, and where you want real past papers we link you straight to the board’s own website.
That is a deliberate choice rather than a limitation. It means the questions can be built around the specific mistakes students make on a topic, and it means nothing here can vanish because of a takedown.
How questions are written and checked
Being straight with you about this matters more than sounding impressive:
- Every item starts from a published syllabus objective, with its own scenario, numbers and mark allocation. Nothing is copied or reworded from a real paper.
- Drafting is done with AI assistance. The questions and worked solutions on this site are machine-drafted against that objective, not typed out by hand.
- Each draft is then checked automatically: independent passes re-solve the question from scratch, verify the arithmetic and the mark allocation, and confirm it sits inside the syllabus. Items that fail are corrected or dropped rather than published.
- On top of that, there is a human review pass, and it is still in progress. It is being worked through subject by subject, and it is not yet complete across the whole library.
So: the content is original and machine-verified, and human sign-off is ongoing. If you find something wrong, tell us and it gets fixed. Corrections are the fastest way this library gets better.
Who makes it
Studyledge is built and maintained by Ali Hamza Azam, an independent developer in Pakistan. It is not a company, not a tutoring agency, and not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Cambridge Assessment International Education, the British Council, IDP or any other examination board.
What it costs
The questions and worked solutions are free, and the intention is that they stay free. If paid features arrive later they will be additions, not a wall placed around what is already public here.
